VOLUNTEER NEEDS:
This will totally
depend on what persons are available within your church or are
willing to work with your church. This can include
paramedics, doctors, nurses etc. The suggested way to go
about this is to find a medical person in your church (or one
outside of your church who would work with your church in the
event of a disaster) and have them “recruit” some of their
medical friends to form a small team to work after a disaster.
TRAINING:
At the very least,
there should be people who have completed a first aid course.
At the best, it will include medical personnel who can do
stitches, shots, and basic medical treatment.
PRE-HURRICANE:
The
degree of preparation will vary from church to church. At
least have plenty of supplies for over-the-counter basic first
aid to be handed out as needed. Each church will have to
determine what they want to have available beyond that. |
