VOLUNTEER NEEDS:
- People who will baby sit, love,
and comfort children
- People who like to teach, do
crafts, games etc. while sharing Jesus
- People who have counseling skills
specific to children (perhaps also working with the
Counseling/Prayer Ministry Team)
- Ministry Teams (adults or teens)
to do street type ministry aimed at children
THE MINISTRY:
Providing child care (examples only – this is for you to
decide)
- For children of working parents
and single mothers when their daycare has been destroyed or
is not functioning (during a crisis things get very
complicated and sometimes people who still have jobs end up
at home because there is no place for their children – a
major problem!)
- While the parents are filling out
FEMA forms or trying to get county help etc.
- A place for children (or mothers
and children) when their house is full of mud and they can’t
put the children down on the floor. What do they do with
them?
- For any children where you see a
need
Ministry to children who may not
know Jesus and have been through, and are still in, a crisis:
- While in your care – not just
babysitting, but activities that will minister to their
spiritual
and emotional needs
- Working with the prayer and
counseling ministry, identifying particular needs
- Team ministry (puppets, drama,
music, clowns, videos, games…) in the church building,
outside the church building, and/or on the street – that
will minister to the emotional and spiritual needs of
children in crisis
Working with the Prepared Meals
Ministry Team to provide food for the children while they are
in your care or while you are ministering to them anywhere.
